Raw, vicious and unforgiving.
sparse landscapes reminiscent of Burzum clash with violent and uplifting crescendos that take a cue from some more modern acts. Valac pulls from various styles with an immaculate bullshit radar and has created something truly special.

One month in and ready to call it: best BM release of the year

Metallurgical Fire Overall this is Valac’s best album. I can’t pick a favorite track. Previously I’ve been drawn to the distinctive beginnings of Valac songs, but the endings to these tracks are simply stunning this time out.

PannionSeer On the heels of a dominant split with Kommodus, the tenebrous Valac emerges from the gloom attuned with with powerful new aural hexes, displaying a mastery of hypnotic melancholy and cold fury. This was a total surprise--thanks Pauline for the tip. Favorite track: Weep Behind the Wall of Illness.

Pauline Zipser Valac likes to put a big ol’ bell over your noggin’ and ring it loud! Every song has a heroic, rocking guitar effort that makes the eyes roll all the way back. Favorite track: The Depths of Despondency.
